We ship to anywhere in the contiguous US.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs will vary by order and delivery state, but those within CA, NV, AZ, UT can enjoy our flat rate fees on our subscription services.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Shipping time varies by state but orders typically arrive within 3-5 business days.
How do I track my order?
Once your order is processed and ready to ship, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking link.
My order never arrived, what do I do?
Please contact us and someone will gladly help you sort it out. Please have your order information and shipping tracking link ready.
Can I order online and pick up my items in person at Chirp’s retail store?
While this is not a feature on our website right now, we are happy to accommodate in-store pick ups for our local customers. Please give us a call prior to placing your order so we can best coordinate your pick up.

Is gift wrapping available?
For in-store purchases we have complimentary eco-friendly Chirp wrapping, but also offer a more premium gift wrapping for a small fee.
Do you have the same online selection at your retail location?
Everything we have online, we have in our retail store, plus much more. Our online selection has been thoroughly vetted to provide our top recommendations to customers, in and out of Big Bear Lake. We know it can be an overwhelming process to pick the right seed blend and feeder so our goal was to make it as easy as possible. Meanwhile, we always encourage customers to visit us at our retail location for a wider (but still carefully curated) selection of wild bird food, feeders, baths, guides, optics, nature-themed gifts, and much more.

What is your return/exchange policy?
We stand by our products and are happy to initiate an exchange or refund if you are unhappy with your purchase. We believe in continuous improvement so your feedback is appreciated!
How do I make a return/exchange?
Just contact us by visiting in-store, emailing or calling. Please have your order information ready.
Is there a fee for returning?
Not typically. If returning by mail, you will be responsible for the shipping costs.

Our Seed
What is your Big Bear Blend?
Our Big Bear Blend is a proprietary blend of seeds that was first inspired to appease the picky wild birds of Big Bear Lake. Ingredients include black oil sunflower seed, hulled sunflower seed, and safflower seed, along with a bit of millet. These top-of-the-line ingredients are sourced from local, trusted vendors and provide a nutritious source of protein, fat, and energy for birds. Better seed, better birds!
What kind of birds does Big Bear Blend attract?
Our Big Bear Blend attracts a wide variety of birds including, but not limited to, jays, nuthatches, chickadees, woodpeckers, and juncos. Be sure to share with us what visitors come to your feeder! Post and tag us on social (@chirpforbirds) or send us an email.
What if my birds don’t eat the seeds?
When adjusting the food you feed your wild birds, sometimes they need more time to acclimate to the new offerings. However, if they don’t warm up after a few weeks, please feel free to contact us so we can find a better option for your feathered friends.
How should I store the seeds?
Unopened bags are best stored indoors where it is cool and dark. Once the bag is opened you can store it in an airtight container or keep it in your fridge for extended freshness. We encourage a container that is pest proof, ideally durable metal.
Do you sell any other seed mixes?
Absolutely! While we only offer our best sellers online right now, you can visit us in-person to browse our wider selection of wild bird food like Premium No Waste, raw peanuts, suet, duck food, and more.
Your Subscription
What are the different subscription options you offer?
We currently offer subscriptions for both wild bird seed and coffee.
How long are subscriptions for?
We offer a variety of different delivery intervals. Choose from weekly, monthly, bimonthly, and trimonthly deliveries.
How do I add or remove products from my subscription?
Adding or removing products is easy. Simply log in to your account, navigate to your subscription settings on the my account page, and adjust your product selection as needed before your next billing cycle.
What’s an add-on product?
Add-on products are additional items that come highly recommended with your Chirp Subscription. These include the Chirp tray feeder and our exclusive Chirp Big Bear Blend T-Shirt.
Can I pause my subscription anytime?
Yes, you can pause your subscription at any time. On your account page, navigate to the subscriptions section. There you will see a list of all of your current subscriptions. Select the subscription that you would like to pause, and then on the subscription overview page, select “Pause”. After pausing your subscription, you will no longer receive shipments and future payments will be stopped. If you’d like to reactivate, it’s easy. On your account page, simply select the subscription you would like to reactivate and then click the “Reactivate” button. Your subscription is now active again and you’ll resume receiving shipments of your subscribed product at the same interval. If you need help pausing or canceling your subscription, please contact us.
Can I change the frequency of my subscription?
Absolutely. You can adjust the frequency of your subscription deliveries any time through your account settings. Under subscriptions, select the subscription you’d like to update. On the subscription overview page, select “Modify subscription”. Next choose a new delivery frequency and click “Subscribe Now”. Continue to the checkout page and click “Switch Subscription” at the bottom of the page. After submitting, you’ll receive an email confirming the change.
When will I get charged for my subscription order?
You’ll be charged for each subscription order on the date your order is processed for shipping. You’ll receive an email notifying you when each subscription payment is processed.
When will my subscription order arrive?
After your subscription is processed, orders are usually shipped within 1-2 business days. Delivery times will depend on your chosen shipping method and location.
Can I buy someone else a subscription as a gift?
Of course! A subscription makes a great gift. Simply select one of our gift subscription products and then on either the cart page or the checkout page, check the box that says “This is a gift” and enter the email address of the recipient. After you purchase, we’ll send them an email notifying them of the gift and prompting them to set up a Chirp account where they can manage shipping details. As the purchaser of the gift subscription, you still have full control over the billing for the subscription and can cancel or modify it at any time.

What is sustainable retail?
Sustainable retail is a movement for businesses to be socially and environmentally responsible, taking into account the long-term impact on the environment, local communities, and global economy. You can read more about our Sustainability Credo.
How can I practice sustainable retail at home?
A few quick ways to incorporate more sustainable practices include recycling or reusing plastic bags instead of immediately throwing them away. You can also donate unwanted items (like bird feeders) instead of putting them in the landfill. We are also excited to now carry refillable personal body care products. Bring in your own container to fill up on soap, lotion or body wash and only pay for what you fill up! Finally, be sure to sign up for our emails so you get our monthly articles on wild bird resources, sustainability tips, Chirp events, and so much more!

Events
How do I confirm my attendance for an event?
To confirm your attendance, please respond to the pre-arrival/confirmation email we send you the Monday before the bird walk. You will have 24 hours to confirm. This helps us ensure that everyone who wants to participate has a spot. If you do not confirm within this time frame, we may need to cancel your registration to offer your spot to others.
What happens if I don't confirm my registration in time?
If we do not receive your confirmation within 24 hours of sending the pre-arrival email, we will notify you by email that your registration has been cancelled. This allows us to open up spots to other interested participants. We recommend keeping an eye on your email to ensure you can confirm your spot promptly.
Are there any spots available after the confirmation period?
Yes, if there are unconfirmed spots, we will promote them on social media and through in-store signage. These spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage you to check our website or contact us to see if there are any last-minute openings.
What should I do if I show up without confirming?
If you arrive on the day of the event without confirming, we may still be able to accommodate you, depending on availability. However, we will remind you to confirm your attendance for future events to secure your spot. This policy helps us manage attendance more effectively and ensure a great experience for all participants.
